Clinical Insights from London - Elective at King's College London

I completed a clinical elective in Rheumatology (Internal Medicine) at King's College Hospital and Guy's Hospital in London. Affiliated with King's College London, consistently recognized as one of the premier medical institutions in the United Kingdom, this rotation provided an exceptional environment for advanced medical training and patient care.

Under the expert supervision of Professor James Galloway, I engaged with the management of complex systemic and autoimmune diseases. Observing the nuanced clinical presentations and clinical management of rheumatology patients in the outpatient setting offered a profound perspective. This direct clinical exposure is vital, as it contextualizes the mechanisms we study and grounds theoretical science in real human pathology.

My time in London also provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate on epidemiological research that I will detail in a future update, the immediate clinical takeaways were invaluable. The insights gained under Professor Galloway will continue to inform my perspective as I complete my medical degree and transition into my upcoming research endeavors.
